So Proud To Be Canadian

Grade 2 has had fun learning about and following the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver these past two weeks. As a home project parents helped the children put together posters of most of the Olympic Events. We sang “O Canada” in music class and I recorded it. Thanks for helping us with that Mrs. Urbanowicz. Thanks to all the parents for helping with the posters.

Can you answer one of these questions?

These Olympics were amazing. Thank you Vancouver for hosting such an awesome Olympics. Does anyone have a favorite moment that they’d like to share? There were so many…

I hope that many youth have been inspired to want to do a sport. If you could participate in the Winter Olympics which event would you get involved with? Why?

Our Winter Carnival Games

Friday was our closing ceremony for our Winter Games. All the elementary classes gathered in the gym. Mrs. Devine put together a slideshow of the three days of activities and put it to music. It was so fun to watch. Our class sang “O Canada” in the slideshow. Watch a smaller version of just our class participating in one of the days’ activities.

Celebrating The Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics

Everyone in Room 102 is so proud to be a Canadian. We are busy presenting our Olympic Poster projects this week as well as having fun participating in Winter Carnival Activities outside. Here is a picture of most of us with the mascot that we created for our classroom. We had an opening ceremony this morning so that each class in our elementary section could present their mascot. All the mascots were amazing. go canada go
The name of our mascot is Oreo. He comes from Quebec City and likes to eat pizza, poutine and watermelon. His hobbies are exploring Quebec, swimming and snowboarding. His dream is to win an olympic gold medal in snowboarding. His favorite color is red. Oreo is part Orca Whale and part Arctic Wolf.
