The recent 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics gave Room 102 the idea to find out more about a famous painter from Russia. We learned that Wassily Kandinsky was the first one to be credited with painting purely abstract works. He was born in Moscow in 1866. His use of color is visually pleasing. His Concentric Circles piece above is what inspired us to try our some abstract painting.
