Pat’s Pet Show

February 6, 2013 · 6 Comments · Uncategorized

Elementary students at our school were lucky to get to see Pat’s Pets this past week.  Pat grew up loving nature and animals.  His mother told him he should start his own business sharing his love of nature.  And so he did.  Children got to see his animals up close and even got to touch some – that is, if they wanted to.

What did you think?

Would you have been able to touch that big snake?

I think I have some brave kids!!

    WOW, Room 102!
What a tremendously exciting visit! We watched your video today because we have been learning to talk about animals we like and don’t like in French, and this was PERFECT! Je n’aime pas les araignees! Je deteste les serpents! We were all able to talk about it, and seeing the real animals, not just pictures, was super! I don’t suppose Pat would be able to bring his animals to England, but we would certainly LOVE a visit like that in our class!
Well done you brave people for holding those icky animals! What animals do you love and loathe?

    Dear Mrs Lynch and children,

I loved reading all about your wonderful day meeting all those amazing animals.

I can’t get over how brave some of your children were holding that huge long snake. I really don’t feel that I would have been so brave.

Thank you for sharing this amazing post with us all Mrs Lynch. I really feel Pat did an awesome job showing the children his amazing animals.

    Cheers AA :)

    Dear Mrs.Lynch and class,

Wow, that snake was huge. I love animals, but I am not sure I would be able to hold some of those things. The girl who held that big spider was crazy. I dont like spiders! Was that all the animals? Did any of the teachers hold the animals? Hope to hear from you soon. :)

    Dear class,

Wow! I also am amazed that you TOUCHED the animals and insects. I’m not fond of bugs but I think I would touch the snake and lizards. The snails seem not so gross, but I know they’re slimy.

What an interesting day this was! Mayla really enjoyed seeing the animals.

    Dear Mrs. Monaghan,
Thanks so much for your nice comment. Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply. Yes, it was amazing to see all the animals up close. I was surprised, too with that huge snake. It was thrilling for the children to hold it.
How is your weather. Do you get snow like we do. We have some fresh snow now and plan to do some skiing tomorrow.
