Room 102 would like to wish all our families and friends a very Happy Holiday. Enjoy your vacation, rest and have fun. However, keep reading every day! Here in Montreal we are very lucky to have a “white” Christmas. What is the weather like where you live?
Grade One filled out applications to be an Elf for Santa. Check out our slide show and hear us tell you why we would make great elves. Do you think you would hire any of us?
We had a fun week before Christmas at school. We finished our week with Mrs. Lynch on Thursday by watching the movie Elf and eating homemade gingerbread cookies made by Mrs. Lynch’s husband. On Friday kids enjoyed a pajama party and Holiday Brunch with Ms. Nagy. Also, congratulations to a boy in our class who won the raffle. Grade 5/6 were raising money for a school field trip and had boy/ girl Christmas baskets to raffle off. J. was so happy to win the boy’s basket.

Dear Mrs Lynch and children,
I really loved this post and reading about about your wonderful auditions to become an Elf. You all looked the part and I must say and your slide show was great too.
Hope your all have had a wonderful Christmas as for us in Australia Christmas has been. We had a lovely Christmas day where the weather was rather nice not to hot.
Hope to be doing heaps of fun stuff over the holidays with Bianca.
Hope you all have a wonderful holiday too.
From your biggest fan down under,
AA
Dear Mrs Lynch,
Merry Christmas. I hope you had an amazing day with your family and friends. I just love your elves they look very cute. Mr Lynch did an awesome job making those Gingerbread men. Congratulations J you did an awesome job on winning the raffle. On the last day of Grade 4 we watched videos and pictures of us they were so funny.

Dear aa and bb,
It is so nice to hear from my favourite friends in Australia. Merry Christmas to you both. You are both such loyal visitors to our blog. Thank you so much.
Thinking of you both and hope you are having fun during your holidays. It is quite cold here and we are expecting another big snow storm tomorrow. Michel and I plan to go skiing next week.
What will you do during your holiday. Two of my favorite memories with my mother were making chocolate chip cookies together and going to the movies.

@ Mrs Lynch,
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and didn’t over eat. How did your skiing trip go hope you and Mr Lynch did heaps of skiing.
Our weather is slowly warming up as each day passes so by the time BB goes back to school I am sure it will be quite hot.
I am still working during these school holidays but do have a few days off during the week so hopefully BB and I will be able to go to the beach, movies and catch up with family and friends.
Have to admit love spending time with my mum.
Our new year has just kicked in and I know yours is about to kick in too. Have a very Happy new year with wonderful health and joy for 2013.
From your friend down under,
AA
Dear AA,
Happy New Year to you and your family, too. It is 9:11 p.m. here so we have a bit of time ’til we ring in the new year. I watched a bit of your celebration earlier today. The fireworks in Sydney looked spectacular! It is just so interesting how as it gets colder here it is warming up where you are. We leave early Wednesday morning to go ski. We’ll probably leave around 4 a.m. and stop for breakfast before we get to Mont Ste-Anne for 8:00am. It is supposed to be really cold – minus 17 or so. Brr. I think the lifts open at 8:30.
What movie do you plan to see? I hope to see Les Miserables sometime soon. Have fun with BB.
your friend,
Mrs. Lynch
Happy holidays!
Wow all the kids look so adorable! How nice of you to make all those gingerbread men for the kids. You must love baking
Mayla told me she had a great time at the pj party too. They played reindeer games.
Today must make you happy Mrs Lynch, they called for 25 cm of snow, this morning they said 40. Wow! Definitely enough snow for skiing.
Hope everyone is having a great holiday, see you in the new year…
Dee
Dear Dee,
Happy New Year! I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and you are enjoying the holiday. You are right I am loving all this snow. We’ve been watching lots of skiing on t.v. and Michel can’t wait to get out on the slopes. I hope I can keep up. It is supposed to be really cold! What has Mayla been up to? Has she and her sister been playing in the snow. Do you have any fun hills to go sliding? When I was little our house had a hill on the side and back of the house. The neighborhood kids would come over to our house to go sliding. It was lots of fun.
Thanks for leaving us a great comment.

Hi Cassandra,
I was so happy to see your comment. I have been having a nice holiday. Thanks for asking. I am glad we got so much snow. Have you been playing in the snow? My husband and I are going skiing this week. We are really looking forward to it. I’m glad you had a nice holiday. Spending time with family is so nice. I hope you have a very Happy New Year, too, Cassandra.

Hello Mrs. Lynch & class,
Mrs. Boekhout & Classroom2Kids
I loved your Elf applications! One of our teachers did a similar project, but adding the face and body parts made yours SPECTACULAR! Here in Coquitlam, BC, we sadly have just RAIN! We did get 2 snowy days a week before Christmas, and the local ski hills are all boasting of wonderful ski conditions. Maybe we’ll get snow again in January. Cross your fingers for us!
Dear Mrs. Boekhout and class,
Happy New Year to you. Thanks for your lovely comment. We do hope you will get some snow soon. Today was our first day back to school and everyone was here so I took a photo. We had a new student start in November and he wasn’t in our header picture. There was lots of snow for the children to play in. I think it was a fun recess outside today.
