Grade 2 went on a field trip yesterday to two local businesses. Thank you to Ms. Mohammed for arranging everything. Two students in her class have parents who have businesses in our community. Our first visit was to a local bakery where Baker Eric showed and explained how to make bread. We got to eat some too. He asked us questions and we did a pretty good job answering them. I think he was impressed. We also had a snack of some of his muffins with a drink. Our second visit was to an Art and Hobby Shop. We all got to paint a frog/ message pad holder.
Watch our Animoto slideshow to see how much fun we had.
It was a really fun day making bread and then creating our own art.

Dear MrsLynch and students,
Léo was really anxious to go to that outing and was not disappointed at all. He enjoyed very much learning about traditional bread making. We had some toasts with the bread that he brought back home this AM and they were delicious! Miam…miam…
He also enjoyed painting his frog at Art &hobby. At first, he wanted to offer it to me but he changed his mind!! It will be a nice souvenir from grade 2.
I can’t wait for the end of the year pic-nic on Thursday. See you then!
Thank you Mrs Lynch for such hard work all year around!
Josée
Dear Josee,
I think everyone had a good time on our field trip Thursday. I’m glad you liked your toast. I brought a loaf of bread home, too and also enjoyed making toast with it. Eric was really good with the kids as was his helper, Pascal. We surely ate well there.
I used to make bread – now I think I really should try to do it again.
The craft shop was equally fun. I think everyone was happy with their frogs. I thought it would make a good Father’s Day gift.. but ha ha – most of the kids said they wanted it for themselves.
Have a great Father’s Day tomorrow!

Dear Mrs Lynch and children,
Wow what an awesome day you all had. I really loved watching your Animoto slide show it sure looked like you were all making some yummy bread rolls.
I have made bread before when I lived on a farm. My mum and I would often get the ingredients ready in order to make the bread.
I”m also was very impressed with what you all made at the craft shop. Must say you are all very creative. I just love visiting craft shops.
When I do go I buy glue, paint, paper and many other items. One time I made a pasta picture where I painted all the different shapes of pasta for my underwater picture. But I first had to buy all the different pasta shapes to make my pasta picture. My teacher was very impressed.
Maybe you could make a pasta picture during your school holidays.
This is great post Mrs Lynch as I missed visiting your blog. Are you on holidays yet?
Are you planning to do something interesting during the holidays Mrs Lynch?
Can’t wait for BB to see this post as she is hanging out with her cousin Kayla today.
Take care!
From your number one fan,
AA
Dear AA,
We have missed you too. It has been so busy here with end of cycle exams that I haven’t been able to post on the blog. I can’t believe it’s been a month since our last post. Well, we have one more week of school and then we are off until the end of August.
Michel and I will have a visit from my oldest sister, Barbara and her husband in July. We will take them to Quebec City. Then we plan to go boating again with my youngest sister Maureen and her husband in New Hampshire. They have a place near Lake Winnipesauke. It is a beautiful lake with many towns around it. It is fun to boat over to Wolfboro for breakfast or dinner. We have breakfast at this lovely diner and always get their “diner dots” – big round cinnamon doughnuts. Finally, we have plans to go fishing again.
Thanks for your comments about bread baking and arts and crafts. Your pasta sea picture sounds like lots of fun. Isn’t in great when we can create something?
We still have some fun end of the year activities that I hope to post so check back next week.
From your friends in Quebec,

Dear Andre,
Thanks for your comment. I am so happy that Talyssa Rose enjoyed the day. I hope we will be able to do the same thing next year.
I love the smell of bread, too. You are lucky with your bread machine that you can prepare it the night before and have fresh bread waiting for you in the morning. Yum!
I am like Dominique. I love creative crafts like knitting, toll painting, cross stitch. I even did a paint by number when I was about 24 that I still have.
Thanks to you and your wife for being such loyal commenters on our blog.
