Look What’s Happening in Room 102!

Mrs. Lynch’s Classroom Blog

Our Hopes and Dreams.

We made our first Voice Thread!!! Yeah!  A Voice Thread is a collaborative, multimedia slide show that holds images, videos and documents and allows people to navigate the slides and comment in 5 different ways - using voice (with a mic or telephone), text, audio file, or video (via a webcam). We can share a Voice Thread with a relative, friend or other classrooms for them to make a comment, too.  Students can use identities, doodle while making a comment and the “owner” of the Voice Thread can monitor the comments.

First grade brainstormed what we would like to learn this year.  Each student picked their personal hope.  We used Mo Willems type of illustration from his book Knuffle Bunny as inspiration for our pictures.  We used a black and white photo of our classroom and designed a picture of ourselves and inserted it into the classroom.

      Hi Mrs. Fale,
What fun it is to communicate with teachers and students so far away. I hope that I can visit New Zealand some day. Maybe I can learn more about it by visiting your blog more often. When do you get out of school for summer?

      Hi Mrs. Brancati,
Thanks so much for visiting us and leaving a comment. You are the first one to leave us a comment on the voice thread, too. I was just at your blog and hope you don’t mind me taking some your Halloween game ideas. I will go back and leave you a comment, too. Isn’t blogging fun.

Your goals are all very reachable and doable. It is going to be an exciting year where you get to read and have a lot of fun writing and learning about trucks and birds.
