The 100th Day of School is quickly approaching. It will fall on Monday, February 16th. Our class will be celebrating on this day with a “100 things collection”. Each student should start collecting things like pasta, stickers, cards, elastics, beans, buttons, pictures, etc. The collection can include 100 of the same thing, or smaller collections (groups of 10) of 10 different things.
The collections should be displayed neatly in a box, plastic sandwich bag, glued onto a posterboard, made into a book, or any other creative way that will be easy to transport to school.
We have been practicing counting every day. Here are a few collections to represent some of the numbers. We are learning to be organized and group objects in groups of 5 or 10 so it will be easier to count and our counting will be more accurate. Today was day 90.
You can also go to to see more collections of 100 for ideas by clicking on this 100th day wetpaint wiki space. Just hold your cursor over the unerlined words and click.

Hi Room 102,
I think celebrating 100 days of school is a great idea. Counting out large numbers like 89 and 90 is tricky because you have to be very organised. It looks to me like you are very good at organising your materials. Good job!
We don’t celebrate 100 days of school in Australia, but I think our class will join in with you on the 16th of February. We will write a post about what we did too.
I’m getting a bit excited about it actually!

Hi Room 102,
I think that your clebration of 100 days at school is a great idea. You must be having fun making your collections of different objects up to 100. The pictures of the objects that you posted are very cool. I also thought that your ABC Book was really neat as it gave me a good idea of what your school is like! It looks like a really nice school. I hope you have a lot of fun on February 16th – the 100th day of school! Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.
Best regards,
Ted
